10 mile mgp tempo run - 7:59/mile. Total of 12 miles with warm up. It felt meh.
I am thinking of adjusting my goal from 3:30 (8:00/mi) to 3:35 (8:12/mi). As much as I would like a buffer on the 3:35 BQ standard, I don’t think it’s a very realistic goal. I don’t see holding today’s pace for 26 miles in 3 weeks. 3:35 would still be a 14 minute PR, and honestly, I would be ecstactic with a 3:35, even if I don’t get into Boston. If I shoot for 3:30, though, I think there is a good chance I will blow up and maybe not even PR. The marathon is a scary beast. Now I just have to hope they increase the Boston field so I’ll have a better chance of getting in.
I haven’t been tumbling much since returning to work. Busy, busy!
